Don't like the new shoes - better than they look in picture, but don't look good with white unis. Should have worn them with baby blue.

Got to love Todd Mayo's socks - looks like he stopped at the bookstore on the way to the game.

What will be the excuse for the students today? Too early?

After a very ugly 3 pt miss early in the game, Jamil Wilson is on fire. Will be critical for MU's final run for him to continue that type of production.

The Bradley Center is finally filling up - this place has gotten very loud. Good to see this intensity from the crowd!

Glad to hear the place filled up and the crowd is going nuts. I wish I could have been there today!

Crowd was waiting, it seemed. A couple of times, early with the 10 point lead, ready to erupt. The late run really got everyone into it.

That was a bad blocking call on Chris

Yeah, even the commentators acknowledged it.

mufansince72

That would have been terrible if the call on Jamil stood. Zebras got that one right by changing it as the Pitt player crashed into his own guy!

IWB

At the 15:51 mark - MU 48, Pitt 33 MU up on the boards 22-13. MU with only 7 fouls in the game. 3 on Otule, but one was a crap call on the charge. Turnovers are at 5, good number, need to keep that under control the rest of the way.

True 72 - that was crap as was the earlier blocking call on Otule.

Gardner seems winded. I just noticed that he no longer wears his knee brace Any idea when that came off?

6 NBA teams represented today.

I am worried with no Oulte for a long stretch.

For as much crap Junior receives, there's a notable difference in the aggressivness in the halfcourt offense when he comes back in. Can't get complacent on offense in this game.

IWB

At the 11:10 mark MU up 56-44.

After only 6 Pitt fouls in the first half, MU will now be in the bonus the rest of the way. Just a thought, Gardner is no longer getting the calls down low - are the refs onto his style of play and not blowing the whistle because he works for the foul?

Agree Ted - The rest of the team just seems more confidant when Jr. is on the floor. His teammates trust and respect him.

Just on cue with a bad Junior turnover when Pitt is making a run.

Need stops now and stay on the defensive boards in addition to the offensive focus.

We need to drive to the hoop from here on out. No more jump shots. Lets win this thing at the line.

Flagrant on Lockett

TedBaxter

Jamil playing one of the best games in his MU career. Aggressive on offense and not trying to be Bernstein the conductor and being too passive. Also hitting the boards and playing defense.

IWB

At the 3:43 mark - MU is up 72-56. 4 players in double figures and a 5th with 9. Blue - 18, Gardner - 14, Lockett & Wilson - 10, Mayo - 9.

MU still has the edge on the glass, 27-22. MU with 8 turnovers at this point - still too many, but so much better than the last few games.

Disagree with the flagrant call on Lockett - I know it was an elbow, but there has to at least be some intent for it to be flagrant.

Best 36 minutes of ball MU played all year. Last four minutes extremely sloppy. This game wasn't as close as the final score. Great victory though!

Yeah the turnovers at the end were bad but before that MU was very impressive. Great ball movement, good decision making and obviously great shooting.

Looking real good for a top 4 finish now with 2 games up on Pitt and the tie breaker.

There were a couple of possessions in the 2nd half where the ball never stopped. MU's movement was impressive. A beauty to watch.

The end of the game nonsense was on the refs too. Game lasted about 20 minutes longer than it should have. The flagrant on Lockett was particularly egregious in my opinion.

Both that call, and the one on Pitt, were bad. Defenders in both case were up real close and the ball handler was simply trying to reverse.

From my vantage point at the BC, I totally agree. Both should have just been personal fouls.

The calls were correct by the way the rules read. I understand the reason to make the rule. Concussions and blows to the head are an emphasis in the NCAA. That said, this rule needs to change. Both were fouls, but that is all. The defender leaned in, in both cases.

What I can see down the road is that it will lead to defenders leaning in more to draw the contact and the flagrant foul. Likely hoping for a flagrant 2. This rule could have unintended consequences.

I agree with Bilas. The rule needs to be modified.

Yeah, Mac that is exactly what they said on TV.
