-- Marquette is having some nice recruiting years. Can they contend for a title soon? (via @BrentBaackes)
Despite having no five-star recruits in 2013, Marquette has one of the better classes in the country coming into school next season. Jajuan Johnson is a smooth scorer who can knock down shots; Duane Wilson can get into the lane against pretty much anyone; and Deonte Burton is a strong wing who is very good in transition. Moreover, forward Jameel McKay is one of the best players in the junior college ranks. The only seniors on the roster are Junior Cadougan, Trent Lockett and Chris Otule. Marquette is a perennial bubble team, but next year the Golden Eagles will have as much talent -- especially on the perimeter -- as anyone in the Big East (besides maybe Louisville).

I don't think I agree with "perennial bubble team." That goes away when you make 7 in a row.

And as I tweeted back to him, only one time in those seven we were a double digit seed.

Yeah, what exactly qualifies as perennial bubble team? With 7 consecutive appearances, there are only 7 or 8 teams with longer active streaks.

Perennial bubble team is just wrong........One maybe 2 of those years would qualify. Why do guys who should know better throw out crap like that?

Marquette is the only BE school to be in the ncaa tourney every season since 2006.

Currently only 6 teams with longer streaks:

Right now, Kansas (23), Duke (17), Michigan State (15), Gonzaga, Wisconsin, and Texas (14 each) are the only teams with longer streaks. Barring Texas winning the B12 Tournament, their streak will end this year as they are 10-11 (2-6). In addition, we are currently tied with Xavier for 7 straight appearances. The Musketeers also need to win their league to get a bid this year, as they are 12-9 (5-3) and have more bad losses (4) than top-100 wins (3).

Based on current standings, the streak list should look like this come March 17:

Kansas 24
Duke 18
Michigan State 16
Gonzaga 15
Wisconsin 15
Marquette 8

Sixth place all to our lonesome.

In fairness, there were 2 or 3 seasons that Andy Glockner called MU "Team Bubble" in his Bubble Watch columns.....
