Notes:

Mayo is suited up, so that should squash those rumors.

Refs for tonight are Tony Greene, Gene Steratore and Bryan Kersey

Unfortunately the Sun Dolls did not make the trip.

I know they haven't topped it off yet, but student section seems small.

Otule giving the rims all he's got.

Junior gives up an easy layup for a showtime dunk for Juan - bench erupts, these guys are having fun. Juan returns the favor by drawing a charge on the other end. This team is pumped.

They look really good so far

Spoke too soon. Lockett has 3 TO's already

Wow - USF red-shirt freshman Jordan Omogbehin checks in. Book has him listed at 7'3, 291. No way is he 291, the guy makes Davante look small. This guys is freaking huge.

Steve Taylor doing some good things again and getting early PT.

Turnovers are becoming really frustrating

A Mayo sighting and of course he picks up a charging foul.

Going into today's game we were second in turnover percentage in Big East play. We do not have the firepower to overcome careless turnovers (and all but about one of them were unforced).

Sorry, had to shut down laptop.
Vander with 9, MU losing on the boards for the first time in ages, 10-9...

We should be up double digits if not for the careless turnovers.

We need Junior to get out on the break and create...he's been a non-factor all game.

There's was a moment when Jordan Omogbehin jarred Marquette's Davante Gardner to the core, 334 # will do that.

As I mentioned two weeks ago, Buzz has a several last minute plays. Rebound with 7.5 left, what will he call?

Give and go with Jr & Vander - play was perfect, shot wasn't. Van will usually be the shooter, just depends on where he starts.

At the half MU is up 28-24....

Lists Marquette as having recruited him. Has some skill, but isn't there yet. Don't think he's been playing very long. wonder what Buzz could do with that kid with 2+ years of development?

Watching Juan's reaction to Junior drawing a charge from about 2 feet away, I have to ask - does anyone have more fun on the court that Juan Anderson? Everytime something positive happens, not only does he get pumped up and excited, but the kid is always grinning from ear to ear. The kind of kid you really want tp root for.

So, looking at Juan this season, would you give him most improved or would that have to go to Vander?

MU starts the 2nd half off with a bang - at the 15:45 mark MU is up 36-24

Vander with 6 quick points in second half. Can't believe Otule only has 1 rebound, he has been dominant in the paint - 3 blocks and a mess of forced bad shots.

DCwarrior

I think all the returning players have made sizeable improvements with the exception of Jamile Wilson and Mayo.

IWB

Agree. While it looked like Davante did hit the guy with his elbow, the fall was a bit delayed. No replay here at the BC, what did it look like on TV? They will call it a T.

Clearly a T

They call a flagrant 2 on Davante, he gets tossed from the game.

If that happened to one of our guys, I'd probably call for a Flagrant 2, too.

It was the right call in my opinion

Out the next game as well, right?

Wish they would show a replay here.

I think they can appeal the ruling to the league. If that doesn't work, I believe he will be suspended for the UL game.

warriorfan4life

Should have been a flagrant one (under current rules). Personally, I was taught to do same thing Davante did when I was a young cager.

Didn't realize that. That would hurt. Is that for sure?
FWIW, definitely the right call. I don't think Davante meant anything malicious by it, but he definitely clocked the guy. I thought he was out cold when I watched the replay. Guess not. He definitely was fairly limp falling down which is to be expected as the big man hammered him in the chops good.

Give it to Vander and get out of his way. Kid is feeling it.

Regarding the flagrant 2, I asked someone in the know with these situations if it meant Davante would have to miss the next game and he said, "Not necessarily, and unlikely in this case."

This is the best he's ever played offensively.
