He's at the Dominican vs. Germantown contest. Germantown running away with the victory (No surprise), but Duane Wilson had 26 early in the fourth period.

Germantown may be the best and deepest team this state has ever seen. I can't think of anyone close in recent years.

Some of the Vincent teams were awfully good.

Not as good as Germantown. I was thinking maybe Madison Memorial at one point, but Gtown would have kicked their butt. I would like to see Gtown play Simeon or a team like that to see how good they really are.

Germantown was REALLY impressive tonight, Duane had a good scoring game, but you could tell the rest of the team was just overmatched by Germantown's size and speed.

Lincoln team with Downtown Freddie Brown from the late 60's was probably more dominant. Generally considered best team in Wisconsin history. The MUHS team from the 71-72 and 72-73 seasons is right behind with one loss in two years.

My favorite high school team to watch...ever.

Clarence Sherrod was the star guard. He went to UW and had a nice career. Brown played second fiddle to Sherrod at Lincoln, but man could he shoot. Range to 25 feet.

John Rushing played half the season before graduating at mid-year. I don't remembe which year - I think Brown's and Sherrod's junior year, but I may be wrong.

Underclassman Ellis Turrentine was also a talent.

The other tam that was just incredible was the North team with Blanton Simmons and Ethesial Ford. Simmons was Al's first recruit at MU, but for some reason his career dipped his senior year. I had the privelege of teaching with Esthesial in MPS for a few years. A terrific ball player at North, and a real gentleman. Died prematurely in late 70s or early 80s.
