Anyone out there? Vander in street clothes, Brett Roseboro in starting lineup for UMBC.

Starting 5 for MU - Junior Cadougan, Chris Otule, Trent Lockett, Juan Anderson, Jamil Wilson

Roseboro obviously put on a lot of muscle since his stint at MU, but he can't handle Otule. I was watching him grab, hold, wrap his arms around Otule, and ref was watching it too. No question that Otule will out-muscle him

Nice 10 footer by Jamil Wilson, no question that MU's success this season will have a lot to do with his mid-range play.

I am here, Roseboro with two quick ones... Excited to see Ferguson some more tonight, I'm thinking he has some potential with time.

Jim I think you and I might be the only ones here, ghost town...

Buzz4Prez - I agree, it amazes me the physical transformation he has gone through from this summer until now. Ferguson looks like a completely different person. Added a lot of muscle and a lot of confidence. It happens with some of these guys, never lift weights because they don't need to, bigger and stronger than everyone, but once they get to this level and lift weights, condition and eat right, you see immediate results.

I'd really like to see us play better against the cupcakes then we have so far this year......pretty poor first half

Steve Taylor likes that top of the key jumper.

Agree on the cupcake deal, but a lot of these teams come out of the locker room hyped beyond belief as they are so excited, and then run out of gas.

Taylor does like that shot, though he is now 1-5 on the season from that spot - got to think Buzz will be in his ear.

Seems we like to play to the level of our competition... Scary trend because one of these cupcakes is going to get us at some point.

Agreed Jim, after what I heard this summer I was pleasantly surprised by what I've seen...

We look pretty terrible. Where are the fast break points? I get that bc of the hockey substitution pattern it's tough to get into any type of offensive flow but we should be suffocating this team on the defensive end and getting out on the break.

Trent isn't overly athletic, he has to stop trying to drive to the hole and pull up with the 10 footer. He has a nice shot, he needs to utilize it.

What's up with Jamil's defense? Getting worked by his guy tonight and was absolutely abused against Butler. I loved his defense last year----not sure what's going on this year.

IWB
11-26-2012, 08:16 PM
Not sure, but last year he was primarily playing the 4, this year the 3 - is he getting beat by quicker players or is he defending the 4 and Juan the 3? Will kepp an eye on it and figure it out.

Good point. When Davante and Chris went down though did he guard the 5 or was that crowder?

IWB

Right in front of me - Otule was set the whole time UMBC player was driving - no way was that a blocking foul

Didn't see the flagrant foul on Aaron Morgan, but I will say that Ryan Cook has certainly earned a couple.

The team apparently thought it was an 8pm start time... Also didn't see the flagrant, lots of talk in our row about that one... We will take it though.

Will kepp an eye on it and figure it out.Jamil played a lot of 5 on defense last year after Davante went down. Not sure whats going on, but Jamil was abused quite a bit on D last nite and had 3 TOs in a row at the beginning of the second half.

Also, the starting lineup last nite was a real no-go with non-shooting PG and C along with 3 forwards (yes, Lockett really is a forward). This lineup started the game poorly and was really abused at the start of the 2nd half. In the first half, Buzz did the "scrambled eggs" thing substituting the second 5 for a bit. Worked for a bit, but MU still struggled. Need to have a better substitutution rotation, which did happen after the game went to 30-31.

The true center on this team is Davante. He is playing well. Chris is still overcoming his injury and had a very tough night last night, though he did get 6 quick points at the end of the game.
