Ok, I know I have been labeled as a Crean apologist, but this is absurd. Peter Jurkin and Hanner Mosquera-Perea have been suspended by the NCAA because their AAU coach made small donations to the IU Varsity Club between 1986 and 1992. Basically, these guys lose 9 games each because their AAU coach donated $185 more than 20 years ago.

Wow. So, if you donate $150 to the Blue & Gold fund today, you can't start up an AAU program 20 years from now.

Sorry, this is absurd. (http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2012-11-06/ncaa-suspends-hanner-mosquera-perea-peter-jurkin-nine-games-indiana-cody-zeller?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter)

There are programs out there flat out buying players for hundreds of thousands of dollars, and they nail these two because their AAU coach gave $185 20 years ago. Unreal.

Um, wow, just wow. Meanwhile, Duke and NC go unscathed.

Aren't they being suspended for receiving the $6,000-8,000 in benefits though?

Receiving those benefits ould have been ok had the AAU coach not been a booster who gave $185 20 years ago.

Ahh. Makes sense. I guess it's not what you know, it's what you can prove.

The NCAA can prove that this happened, so they have to rule. They may not be able to prove that the Warden is going pardon the kid's dad if his son chooses Big State, so they can't punish anyone for it.

Pretty ridiculous though.

I can't stand the preferential treatment for some schools. Funny how the NCAA seems to have forgotten about Duke. Lance Thomas gets $30,000 from somewhere and uses it as a down payment for $90,000 in jewlery, and gets a $60,000 loan despite having no income. And this happened during the NCAA title season. But I guess because he refuses to talk the NCAA is done.

Crean has always been clean. I could see this kind of thing if TC had long been shady and you were just trying to nail him for anything (Al Capone type thing), but he isn't someone giving the sport a bad name. Somehow guys like Drew, Calipari, Boeheim, etc just keep on doing what they do.

Duke should get nailed for the Lance Thomas thing, any other school would have had to vacate wins, lose schollies, etc because the NCAA wouldn't stop the investigation.
