Does anyone know who the recruiter was and how long we've been watching him? I've only seen MU mentions within the past couple months.

The recruiter was Brad Autry. I just spoke to Pastor Dawson - will have a story shortly, but here is a quote from Pastor Dawson regarding Brad Autry.....

"My wife and I know when God sends people into our path, it for a reason, and we felt right away that God sent Coach Autry into our path."

I would imagine that since he is from NM might have something to do with why he hasn't been noticed. West Coast kids generally are ranked a little lower I believe, far more attention is paid to the East coast as the majority of talent is there.

Not just West Coast, he is from a town of 38,000 - 200 miles outside of Albuquerque. I was told if he was from a bigger city he would be nationally known.

Welcome to Dawson!

Looks like he had a lot of mid-major offers and a few high major offers....with a lot of major programs sniffing around and keeping an eye on him. I'm sure Buzz and the staff found something they like in him and think he has an upward trajectory with his potential. Hopefully they are right. Does anybody know what kind of competition he faces playing in NM? Or how he performed on the AAU circuit?

I assume this ends the 2013 recruiting class (if no departures after this season)?

Looking at the video he seems to have Tyshawn Taylor body type. Dawson appears to be a bit taller than Tyshawn. Both players were ranked about the same coming out of high school and Ty was in a part of the country where he got more exposure.

His dad said they tried to keep all of the offers quiet, so there were many more from mid and high majors - a total of 37 D1 offers in all!

TT has been listed as high as 6'4" so don't think he is as tall or taller than him.

I doubt this ends the 2013 recruiting... I would imagine it ends our recruitment of guards, but I'd think we will still chase a big man like Embiid.

Any concern about Dawson committing without having already visited the campus? I know Crowder never visited and he turned out OK. Then again, TJ Taylor didn't visit either; although I'm still not sure why he left Milwaukee/MU so quickly.

Crowder, DJO, Jimmy Butler, Lazar Hayward, Joe Fulce - none of those guys visited, though not 100& sure on Lazar.

And I think that same sentiment could apply to Marquette and Buzz Williams.
