I went nuts when I replied to the email, posted on Scoop when the subject came up there and I was ripped because I said basketball is the soul of MU. I really believe that. Meet an MU grad on the road, what is the first subject of discussion? Who is our most famous alumnus? What is it that creates the most alumni contact and donations? What makes us a national name? Its not our Law School, our Philosophy department, the Dental School or even Joan of Arc Chapel. So I gave them feedback along those lines with the conclusion being that basketball success is terribly important to this University.
