Villanova just got better....

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanCBS 18 Jun
Villanova just put out release that Wake Forest transfer Tony Chennault was granted hardship waiver to play this year for Jay Wright.

From Wake Forest site:

Started all 31 games at point guard ... Averaged 9.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 30.2 minutes per game ... Led the team and ranked in a tie for eighth in the ACC in assists per game ... Ranked second on the team in steals (31) and was third in both scoring and minutes played

Losing Wayns and Cheek, Nova needs him. Surprised their program is in the shape it's in currently in, but they are looking at another second division Big East finish.

They were going pretty good until recent years, they hit a sharp decline... Gotta think of they have a couple more years like last year that Jay Wright will be looking for a job.

Funny thing with Nova and Pitt it seems...the better they got, the higher rated the recruits they signed, the more problems that resulted.

I hadn't thought about that, but wow is it ever true. Hope that as we move forward with (hopefully more) classes like the stellar 2013 Milwaukee's Best, we avoid a similar fate. Buzz has done wonders with unsung recruits and JUCOs, but his successes with top-100 guys have been a mixed bag, at best.
