SJU, Nova, PC and DePaul somehow winning one, would be the PERFECT scenario for MU tomorrow, that is assuming MU takes care of business themselves.

No! I don't care about that necessarily...I have bigger goals in mind, hence why i said those teams losing would be the perfect scenario for MU.

I wish and hope for next season they do last 8 in and first 8 out. Talk about buzz on the airwaves that hoops really needs.

Yeah, that is probably where more of the uncertainty lies.

Is there any update on when Phil Booth might be back? I figured around this time, mid-February.

Marcus LoVett scored 19 points, Shamorie Ponds added 17 and Tariq Owens had a double-double to lead St. John's to a 78-70 win over Seton Hall on Saturday.

Owens had 12 rebounds and 10 points, plus four blocks, for the Red Storm (12-14, 6-7 Big East). Bashir Ahmed added 11 points for St. John's, which closed the first half of a 16-3 run to open a 37-27 lead.

The Pirates (15-9, 5-7), whose last two games were overtime victories, scored six straight early in the second half to get within six but got no closer as the Red Storm had an 11-2 run to go up 52-37 with 13:20 to play. Seton Hall got the deficit to single digits several times in the last five minutes but each time St. John's responded. The Red Storm went 14 of 15 from the foul line in the second half.

Desi Rodriguez led the Pirates with 17 points. Khadeen Carrington had 14 and Angel Delgado (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Michael Nzei (11 and 12) had double-doubles.

St. John's turned 18 Seton Hall turnovers into 30 points while committing just eight turnovers.

Toby Hegner set a season high with 14 points and matched one with four 3-pointers, Marcus Foster scored 13 points and No. 23 Creighton pounded DePaul 93-58 on Saturday.

The balanced Bluejays (21-4, 8-4 Big East) shot a season-high 60.7 percent and nailed 13 of 22 3-pointers against the last-place Blue Demons (8-17, 1-11). Creighton took control late in the first half and outscored DePaul 54-32 in the second to come away with the win after dropping three of five.

Cole Huff and Khyri Thomas each scored 12 points, and the Bluejays improved to 7-1 in road games.

No update, leaning towards redshirting him, but I would not be totally stunned if he returns in a few weeks. Knee tendinitis can clear out of the blue, and Nova badly needs one more body (especially as it could allow them to unleash their dangerous three-quarter court trap more often). I think Nova with a healthy Phil Booth would be favorites to repeat (though Gonzaga is also ridiculously good).

Thanks. I hope he can return this season and play. As you said, Nova could really use another good player in their rotation.
