Last regular season game coming up. A tough challenge for our Warriors.

Great job MU! Way to play with a sense of urgency. Not like there is much on the line today...

Butler much better defensively than I anticipated they would be... very physical

Smart move by wojo to move JJJ onto Roosevelt Jones. He was abusing Carter

Marquette played better small v Butler in Milwaukee too. Luke's fouls might be a blessing.

Yep, and very one-sided.

Unbelievable calls. The little guard from Butler charges and gets a blocking call and Sandy barely pushes off and gets a charge. Jones uses his lead arm every time. If they call that on Sandy they better call it on Jones.

Henry and Traci are getting chippy as a result.

IrwinFletcher
03-05-2016, 02:08 PM
This is quite frankly the worst display of officiating this season. How the F#$#%k foes Luke get called for a foul on a guy shooting a 3 point shot and the guy doesn't get 3 FTs. The foul on Sandy was comical. I thought Wojo should have gotten a T and get in the refs grill.

Bad refs or not, MU has not played very well.

MU takes some of the stupidist shots i have ever seen a team take....This Butler defense is ranked 119 in the country...you are making them look special. Nah, let's not get the ball inside...let's just jack up stupid, quick jumpshots. And inevitably EVERY time they do that at crucial parts of games, it KILLS them. Guess they wanna play 4 in 4 days. You worked Butler over at home....you stopped Jones, now you can't??

Markedman

Bad refs or not, MU has not played very well.

Yes, but they factored in MU not playing well. When MU was on the run, 3 critical blown calls against MU. Tough not to let that crappy officiating get into the minds of a young team on the road.

The BE officiating has been awful all season. This was the worst of the worst.

I suspect, though, sultan will defend them as he typically does.

Before the end of this game Henry may lose it cool to the point that he's thrown out of the game. He's one high elbow away from getting tossed as the ref has already talked to him.

Hopefully our guys can put the first half (and those unbelievable refs) behind them and play solid basketball in the second half. Wojo must be besides himself in the locker room.

Yeah, and in crunch time too! Actually, I hope that can somehow get him out of his funk because it is obvious Wojo has no plans to play Anim, which in my mind, is absolutely absurd. Kid should be out there getting some experience right now, not Sandy.

For anyone to go to the blame Sandy for this game just doesn't like the kid. He was the least of our problems today.

All in all, just a forgettable game. You could see the frustration in the whole team's body language. Gotta hope they can recover mentally.

No. You don't get it. It's not at all that I don't like his play. He has been absent from this team for whatever reason for the 2nd half of the season. Him scoring a few points when we are down 30 and Butler was just coasting doesn't really prove anything to me. It is one of the biggest drop offs I can ever remember seeing. He shouldn't be playing extensive, meaningful minutes unless we have thrown in the towel for this season.

I have nothing against the kid. I love his story. I want Wojo's first recruit, especially a Wisconsin kid with a sister at Marquette also, to have success. But I don't want that at the expense of my team's success. And, I apologize if it came off that I thought Sandy was our biggest problem today. He was no more of a problem today as any other conference game this season.

Hopefully our guys can right the ship for the SJU on Wednesday. Nothing went right today except for Henry's scoring (though his defense was rather suspect). We move on after another valley following the peaks at CU and against G-town. All in the process.

Guess I look for more than being the best guy on the court during garbage time. While the game was somewhat competitive, he was a non-factor.

His foul on the fast break in the first half was emblematic of his issues. He had no confidence to challenge the shot, was tentative and then tried to avoid the contact and had just a horrendous foul that lead to a 3 point play. Confidence leads to poor decision making. He needs the offseason to come more than anyone else on the team.

That's precious as you were one of those front and center hating on JJJ.

Only fools questioned JJJ's ability. Few would question those calling out Sandy's ability at this level. Just look at the conference numbers and do the eye test when the games matter.

Uhh, not me. I was one of the few who advocated playing JJ the past two years. My issue was always Derrick.
