Fast pace action early on. 9-7 MU

Lack of rebounding and turnovers. Same old, same old.

Game is starting to slip away since keeping Henry or Luke on the bench.

20-17 XU at the under 12 timeout.

Both teams with hot shooting early.

Lack of rebounding and turnovers. Same old, same old.

Seems like MU tries to play way too fast at times.

Xavier is tough. MU shooting well and still down 3.

Good to see Sandy hit that shot.

17-1 run for MU. Up 29-20

5-6 from 3pt

Good to see Sandy hit that shot.

He needed to see the ball go in. Hope that gives him a shot of confidence.

TedBaxter

Not sure if MU has played that well over a 5 minute stretch in the last 3 years. Still only up 6.

TedBaxter

Now that was a tough angled jump hook.

Reminded me of that shot that Brook Lopez had in OT to beat MU in the NCAAs.

Sumner killing MU. 15 of X's 32 points.

TedBaxter

3 on Haanif. Xavier making the run. Might need Sacar in the last 3 minutes of the half.

TedBaxter

Sumner killing MU. 15 of X's 32 points.

Not sure how you guard him. Hits the 24 footer and if you go out on him he drives by for the dunk.

Sumner is studly.

I know we are young but the turnovers are tough to swallow

TedBaxter
02-06-2016, 11:46 AM
Left some points out there as a result. Good half for MU though.

Hot shooting in the first half. If Sandy is going to play big minutes in the 2nd half, we'll be offensively challenged in the half court. Going to need to keep rebounding and minimize turnovers to have a chance.

I'd zone. Blowbys came because there was no one down low.

When Reynolds is in the game, just play off him. Sag off and help. If he beats you with jumpers, so be it. With Farr in the game it's much more difficult.

We had a great 1st half against Nova. Could not sustain it in the 2nd half. I will say Xavier goes on a nice run and puts MU away (maybe that will jinx them).

I think Haanif leads the country in offensive fouls

TedBaxter

17 minute mark. MU doesn't convert and X ties it at 45.

AlexJesswein

Mu looking better against 1-3-1. Bluiett seems to hit timely treys for X.

AbovetheRim
02-06-2016, 12:22 PM
Bluiett and Sumner a combined 8/10 from 3. Time for a market correction.

TedBaxter
02-06-2016, 12:22 PM
Blueitt, Davis and Macura can really make you pay. Then you have Farr, Reynolds and Summers.

We'll see how poised MU is.

4th on Bluiett--huge.

I was way too hard on Sandy after the Hall game, but he's played an excellent floor game today.

Trade off is that he gives you nothing offensively and they're going to have to score down the stretch to have any chance.

Needed a timeout there and get Henry in. Nope, a TO.

DCwarrior
02-06-2016, 12:35 PM
A little late calling the TO. Should have 2 possessions earlier and should got Henry back in the game.

TedBaxter

Henry went out and it was 63-57? 8 straight?

Horrible TO by Sandy

I've been waiting for 5 years for an MU team to get the ball into the middle on the fast break. Still waiting.

This is why I worry about next year.

DCwarrior

Best sequence of the year for MU. Block by Johnson and layup by Haanif.

Slow whistle on the jump ball and the clock started before Luke touched it.

Nukem2

Have to fault Wojo for sitting Henry during that 8 point run and also not calling a timeout during the run.

Too bad - saw some really good stuff today against an excellent team on the road. Unfortunately too much déjÃ* vu - in particular TO's in critical times down the stretch.

Christ, we turn it over too much because we have to put the ball in the hands of off guards. That is who we are. It may be unfortunate, but we know that. We turned it over eleventy-billion times and still were in the game with Xavier into the last minute.

Did anyone at any point expect a win in this game? I know I never did. Today is all positive. Only game we played better this year is Butler, and even that is debatable.

Coming down the stretch vs. Butler last week, I didn't expect to win.

And we did.
