Tyler Wideman - 6'8" around 245 pounds. A sophomore. Averaging 8.5 ppg and 6.1 rpg in about 25 mpg. Fifth option for the Bulldogs on offense. Averaged 2.3 ppg and 2.1 rpg in roughly 11 mpg as a freshman.
Luke Fischer - 6'11" around 245 pounds. A junior. A former Top 100 recruit. Probably our third option on offense after Henry and Duane.
Here's the question. Can Luke finally, without question, outplay another Big East center? He has three inches on him. Wideman is definitely no Delgado, no Bentil, no Ochefu, no Farr or Reynolds, no Yakuba in terms of physical tools (strength or quickness or overall athleticism).
It would be nice to see Luke hit the rewind button and have one of those 18 point/9 rebound games we've occasionally seen in the past, but which have been missing in action the past seven games.
He won't get a better chance to have one of those games than tomorrow.
